  2. Bright Colored Pants

This is another Fall trend I am excited about.  I love being able to mix and match colors that usually wouldn’t ”match.”  Don’t be afraid of not matching.  Keep the patterns solid and be confident that you look amazing!!!!!!!

  3. Colors I Cant Get Enough Of!

Mustard, Rust, and the Fall 2011 BLUE!!!!!

  4. Conversation Pieces

Conversation pieces are not only for men’s ties anymore.  I am loving pieces that have printed fabric.  Here are some cute examples.

Sign me up for the horse dress on the left, I couldn’t pass it up!

So I bought it in Tan.

This little shirt also came in a shorts jumper at bcbgeneration.com

  5. Rockstar Denim

On Monday, I got the pleasure to meet Frank Mechaly, designer and owner of Rockstar Sushi Denim.  I met up with him at Rockstar’s corporate office and we chatted about the company, inspirations for designs, his past, and fashion in general.  I instantly became of fan of him as a person and the Rockstar Brand as a whole.

Frank’s family has been in the denim industry for 4 generations.  He came to California from Paris in 2002.  He has been the man behind great brands such as Blue Cult, Sacred Blue, and 575.  In 2008, he started Rockstar Sushi Denim.  He has grow this business from just denim, to this year rolling out a full collection of Tee’s, belts, cashmere, and jewelry.

    THE INSIDE SCOOP

    Hitting stores soon:

Rockstar is releasing a complete tee shirt/tank top collection.  The pieces are all around bad-ass consisting of clothes pins, carefully made holey look, and acid washed.

My favorite of the womens tank tops.  You can order the shirts “Custom” which means the pins will be in the shirt or “Classic” which means the pins will not be in the shirts.

Love the acid wash on this

    FLARE JEANS

The second thing I got got to see thats not out to the public was the new Women’s Flare Cut jeans.

The simplisity of this flare made it a great go-to everyday jean.

    MEN’S CARGO

I found the men’s cargo pant to be interesting.  They are avilable in Nordstroms at South Coast Plaza, The Grove, Seatle, Huston Gallaria, Pentagon City, and Nordstrom.com.

The patch work on these cargos are hand sewn. AMAZING

  6. The Tale Of One Dress Shirt

We’ve all seen the new fashionable patterned mens dress shirt. From news casters to movie stars, everyone is wearing them.

In my experience, men are weary of picking out any dress shirt or tie combination, so the thought of throwing in a patterned shirt with a patterned tie may make some men’s heads explode.  I have taken ONE patterned shirt and THREE different ways of wearing it for a variety of occasions.

The patterned shirt that is used in all three looks

    For the office

This look consists of a navy Hugo Boss slim fit suit, the Tommy Hilfiger dress shirt, and H&M white tie.  This works because you have the suit to add sophistication but have the youthful dress shirt and white tie to give a fashion forward look.

    Night Out

Going out on the town?  Why not funk things up with a bow-tie?  This look consists of a Countess Mara navy and white bow-tie, Dockers D1 slim pants, Converse white All Stars, and Tommy Hilfiger dress shirt.

    Casual Prep

This look consists of Dockers D1 slim fit pants, J.Crew boots, Tommy Hilfiger dress shirt and J.Crew tie.  The tie makes this outfit color combination come together.  The rolled Dockers and loss fitting tie, finishes off the relaxed preppy look.

So whatever way is your style, you too can wear the fashion forward patterned dress shirt!

  7. Great brands I found at the Sassy City Chicks Sample Sale

My time would have been wasted if it wasn’t for stumbling across these really cool brands/vendors.

    Sole Society

    Excess Baggage

    Sole Society

    solesociety.com

I thought this was a VERY cool concept for a shoe website.

1)You take a style quiz and discover your fashion bio

2)A selection of 6 pairs of shoes show up based on your fashion quiz

3)You choose from these 6 shoes that you like

I took the quiz thought it was fun.  I did like a couple pairs of shoes that were brought up on my fashion bio.  Also, all shoes are Marco Santi and only $49.  What a deal!!!!  I bought a pair to try them out, REVIEW TO FOLLOW!

The one thing I didn’t like was you couldn’t shop ALL shoes, you could only choose from the 6 pairs Sole Society thought you would like.  (The idea is to  have your own personal stylist)  You could request a new selection but it takes a while (a buisness day) When you click on a shoe Sole Society picks for you it also shows you outfits that could go with the shoe! VERY COOL!

    In a different color.

    EXCESS BAGGAGE

    shopexcessbaggage.com

I found a vendor that buys designer clothing and sells on the Internet for a discounted price.  I bought a Factory by Eric Hart dress that was originally $130 for $50.  SCORE!  The open back with crisscross netting and the 80’s style shoulder pads were too hard to let this piece go.

So, was this a sample sale filled with Gucci, YSL, McQueen pieces?  NOOOOO, but if you knew what you were looking for, this event was worth your while!

Ok everyone, I will be attending the Sassy City Chicks Sample Sale in Los Angeles on Thursday March 24th.  This is a traveling “designer” sample sale that visits Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, New York, Miami, Dallas, and Chicago.

Our friends in San Francisco gave it two stars out of five, so not looking very good.  Tune in for my review this weekend.

  9. Fashion Minga 2011

How do I say this nicely.  This was the worst “fashion” show, if you can call it that, of fashion week.  The only thing that was AMAZING, and nothing short of that, were the performances in between shows.  There were dancers, singers, violinist, and  acrobats.  This event took place at the beautiful Boulevard 3 in Hollywood.

I was able to meet amazing fashion lovers like, Brandi Jones

Jewlery Designer Katie Daniels (Right) and Megan Downour (Me left)

First off the fashion.  The designers that presented their lines were Brit Boy, Respek Wear, and Candid Intimates.

    Candid Intimates

The Candid Intimates show, a lingerie company, was interesting and had some good panties and bras.  The bad thing was, there were ONLY panties and bras which didn’t give much of a WOW factor.  Candid Intimates is exclusively sold at the Glendale Galleria.  I think this is a company that could take off.  Watch out Frederick’s of Hollywood.

    Brit Boy

This line consisted of one cool British flag bathing suit.  The other pieces were poorly fitting and lacked taste.  The pieces were very Forever 21 looking.

This dress was made out of velvet.  This back fit poorly and the top of the models thong was showing as she walked.  This dress could have been GREAT if the fit was better.

The designer is British, if you didn’t know.

I thought this was a cool bathing suit.  The British flag again but it’s not as obvious as the jacket! Subtlety is key.

    Respek Wear

This show was a little strange because the crowd didn’t know what we were supposed to be looking at.  (Just the screen printed tees or the pants as well) It consisted mostly of screen printed tee-shirts so I’m just going to think the pants were not included in the line.  The tee were of an Urban flair with sayings such as “HUSTLE HARDER”, “URBAN NERDS”, “ALL WE DO IS WIN”.  Didn’t see anything I havent seen before.

    The Perfermances

Over-all the show was entertaining because it had something for everyone.  However, the fashion aspect was not up to par with the rest of the fashion shows of the week.

  10. Style LA Fashion Week-Future Heretics

Future Heretics also presented their 2011 Fall/Winter line at Style Fashion Week.

From the court yard before entering the show

Taking our seats before being slightly entertained by a short appearance from Cirque Du Soleil impersonating models on a catwalk.

    The Show

The thing I loved about this show was the leather, roughness of fabrics and looks, and the aspect of taking Women’s suiting and making it sexy and provocative. This line had some of the best and most interesting leather pieces I have seen.  The quilting technique used in the jackets, pants, leggings, and gloves turned “just another” leather piece into a head turning garment!

Future Heretics made clothes that can easily be taken right off the runway and worn anywhere. Take a look……..

Quilted leather is a cool way to spice up a leather jacket.

These gloves were my favorite piece of the show!  I love when a simple accessory, like gloves, becomes the main focus of an outfit.

    MEN’S WEAR

Men’s was definaly better then the women’s, in my opinion.  Check out the styling and the SHOES, genius!!!!!!!!!

The sexiest pants I have seen in my life.  The fit was nice.  I liked how they paired the leather with a plain tee and let the pants be the main focus in this outfit.

This all black outfit works!  The gray boots and the silver buttons create enough  contrast to not make this not just another safe all black go-to outfit.  Styling and accessorizing is key.

    I

Hoods are a huge trend to follow this coming Fall/Winter.

Guys, don’t be afraid to play around with pant lengths.  The photo above is a great example of  “manpris” that look manly and fashionable.  If that’s too much for you, try simply rolling your skinny jeans up a couple rolls like in the first photo.

Bravo Boys, you gained a new fan here!
